Sunday 26th November 2023 Today’s Game was an Away game to Blaby & Whetstone In goal today we had Jodie. Defenders – Ruby, Ella, Kaylee, Rebecca and Hannah. Midfield – Mabel (c), Nellie, Elise, Jess, Tilly, Evie and Ellie as our striker. Both teams started this game very strong.  A great battle with both teams pressing for a goal. After 20 minutes B&W scored the first goal. We tried to get the equalizer, but we ran out of time in the first half. In the second half after a quick chat the girls went out determined with Evie being assisted by her team scored 3 goals and then 1 penalty. B&W also scored 3 more goals in the second half which ended the game 4-4. There is too much to write about the match today as the 50/50 battle between both teams was amazing. It was truly the best match we could have played and equally an amazing game to watch!   Final Score – Oadby & Wigston 4 – 4 Blaby & Whetstone Thank you to Blaby & Whetstone for a great match! The whole game today was fair, No issues and great football all round. You are a great worthy team and look forward to playing you again at our home ground. Player of the match – it is too difficult today to give a player of the match. We would like to give this award to every single one of you as you all played brilliantly with each other and without the teamwork the game could have ended completely differently. Well done to the whole team and you should all be proud of yourselves today! Thank you to Rich for running the line and to all our parents and supporters that came to watch us today.

Well what a game from the under 12’s! I’ll start by saying that was the best I’ve seen us play. Everyone giving it their all and actually the best passing I’ve seen. There was no messing at the back and fantastic saves as always from Phoebe. Tallulah with the hat-trick narrowly wins player of the match but this was a team effort. With Jess scoring 2 and Paige scoring 1, a fantastic 6-2 home win! Cup game number 2 under our belts.

Well done today U11 Vixens! The girls ran from start to finish but it paid off in the end with another successful outcome and a clean sheet! East Goscote certainly made you work hard for that win as their defence was solid 💪 Player of the match today was Lottie 🏆 who played out of her normal position and had a nice goal to top it off, well done! 👏

Sunday 19th November 2023 Today’s Game was our second game to Asfordby Amateurs U16, this time at our home ground. In goal today we had Jodie. Defenders – Ruby, Faye, Kaylee, Rebecca and Hannah. Midfield – Mabel (c), Nellie, Jess, Tilly, Evie and Ellie as our striker. First Half – We started the game off well, putting pressure on the opposing team as soon as the whistle blew. Evie taking on 3 players and scoring in the 3rd minute. There was a good battle and Asfordby scored to get themselves back in the game. After a bit of great football Evie then went 1v1 with the keeper and placed the ball into the back of the net followed by a scramble in the box and Jess scoring her first goal with the team!! There was then a great battle between both teams, Asfordby staying strong and fighting back with a few shots on target that Jodie was ready for. Just before the half time whistle Evie scored another goal after a great run with the ball. Half time score 4-1 Second Half – After a well deserved breather, Asfordby came back strong and putting us on the back foot making our defenders work hard. We also had several chances at another goal but Asfordby’s goalkeeper was on fire and was having a great game. We gained a corner, Evie struck the ball and it came off one of Asfordbys players and went straight into the net. Tilly, very composed went on to score a cracking goal after seeing the chance to chip the goalkeeper.   Final Score – Oadby & Wigston 6 – 1 Asfordby Amateurs Thank you to Asfordby Amateurs for a great game and a special mention to your goalkeeper. She played brilliantly. Our opposition player of the match. Player of the match – The player to win this award goes to the girl that didn’t stop and played brilliantly showing everyone her confidence and skill on the ball. The award goes to Evie!!! You played brilliantly and proved that all the hard work you do pays off. Well done Evie, you are growing so much as a player!

Sunday 29th October 2023 Today’s Game was our second game to Quorn Juniors U16, this time at our home ground. In goal today we had Jodie, Defenders – Ruby, Faye, Kaylee, Rebecca, Ella, Hannah and Elise , Midfield – Mabel (c), Nellie, Jess, Tilly, Evie and Ellie and Reese as our strikers today. First Half – We went straight in playing some great football and working very well as a team, the passes and movement were on point. From the start we were pushing hard and created lots of chances at goal whilst Quorn were keeping heavy pressure on us. Evie then went on to score the first goal at 18 minutes by chipping over the keeper confidently. A great battle from both teams gave Quorn a good run towards a goal but our defence were ready to stop them. With the team pushing forward, Evie won the ball and dribbled the ball through the defensive line and scored again! Followed by Ellie With a great first touch on the ball and straight into the net. There were a lot of chances from Mabel, Tilly and Nellie towards goal but unfortunate not to score. Just before the half time whistle we had a corner. Evie Whipped the ball in and with a scramble from the players to get on the end of the ball, unfortunately for Quorn it came off one of their players into their net. Throughout the first half every player was working hard and playing amazing together. Half time score 4-0 to Oadby & Wigston Second Half – Not much of a team talk was needed as the girls were having a very good game of football. The score at that time wasn’t the thought on my mind but it was the technical football they were playing. Quorn came back out ready to fight back with great determination. They played very well together and kept us on our toes. After several chance throughout the whole game Mabel finally got the goal she deserved with a great strike from inside the box, She then went on to score another one a few minutes later. A great battle inside of the box area, Quorn had a good shot on goal but our defender had her arm in the way and they were awarded a penalty!! Our goalkeeper Jodie was ready and made a brilliant dive to save the shot. In the 62nd Minute Evie was going towards goal and was fouled in the box and we were awarded a penalty and scored. Final Score – Oadby & Wigston 7 – 0 Quorn Juniors Thank you to Quorn Juniors U16 for another great match. If we forget the score and looked at the football, both teams showed determination and teamwork. You have a great team that works hard and well with each other, and we wish you all the best for the rest of the season. Player of the match – The player to receive this award is Nellie!! You ran your heart out today and didn’t stop at all. You give 100% when you play and are determined to always win the ball and get it up the pitch. The progression you have shown this season with us is amazing with your confidence and control of the ball. A very valued member of the team. Well done Nellie Keep up the good work! Sunday 29th October 2023 Fantastic team performance today from U11 Vixens and a well deserved win! They played some really nice football and all gave 100%. It’s always a close game when we play Leicester Ladies but the girls kept battling and gave their all. Well done to our goal scorers today Aiofe & Mia! Also well done to our goalkeeper Maisie, some brilliant saves and great organisation of the team! Finally, well done to Sienna for Player of the match today. You played a great game in defence and  brought calm to the team when needed and your distribution on the ball was great.
