Under 9’s Diamond’s

A very windy day for the match, as we welcomed a very good Epworth side to our ground. A very close game by both teams, even fighting against the strong winds there was still some great football on display and some even better goalkeeping from both keepers 🙌 Both teams had really good direct wingers who created alot during the game. Some great shooting from the midfielders and strikers aswell, including a thunderous strike from our captain Epworth caused us alot of problems but we stood strong and continued to battle well, even though at times felt we were hanging on, but as we all know now, our girls always give so much and work together as a unit. A great game for the neutral, and both teams certainly put a shift in. Today saw us travel to Ashby Ivanhoe FC for an early kickoff. This was the first time we have played Ashby so it was nice to play against new players and meet new coaches The game was scrappy from start to finish, the passing not quite as good as usual but the girls all dug deep and gave 100% throughout the match. Some very good saves from our keeper and clinical finishing on a very hard uneven pitch. A big shout out to Ashby, who looked after us well and made it a good battle, both set of parents were fantastic in supporting the 2 teams, as we continued our good run during this block of fixtures ⚽️⚽️👊 We picked 2 players of the match today, who were Aliya and the birthday girl Willow 🏅 Match sponsors for our team today were: Shelving for Shops Once again, a big thankyou to Ross the Ashby Ivanhoe manager, his coaches and the girls ⚽ ‎

Just when it looked like it wasn’t our day, the girls kept on fighting 🙌. After a tough first half, they came out determined in the second half and started to turn things around. Stunning strikes from distance, relentless pressure, and never giving up brought the game back to life. Every single player dug deep, showing true spirit, teamwork, and togetherness ⚽️⚽️🙌👊

Final game of the season for Oadby & Wigston U8s was an away trip to play against strong opposition in the form of Epworth Forest Juniors U8s The effort from all the girls today was fantastic, our goalkeeper Aliya made some incredibly good saves, including saving a penalty! Belle and Myla put in some good tackles, our midfielders Soraiya, Elsie and Willow got up and down the pitch all game with our strikers Sienna and Lois chasing every ball. A great game played by both teams, welldone to all the girls ⚽ Goals today by Lois, Soraiya, Elsie and Sienna Player of the match medals were awarded to all the girls today after a great performance by all of them 🏅 What a brilliant season it’s been, the girls have given us 100% in each training session and in every match. A huge thankyou to all our parents for all the support theyv given us this season, without you guys this team wouldn’t be where it is. Let’s keep working hard in the summer and improving the team ready for next seasons 7v7 matches ⚽

Football on Sundays is finally back for the U8s after the Christmas break. An early morning start for the team as we travelled to Melton for a tough game against a very good Asfordby side. A cold game for both teams, but the football from every girl on the pitch was brilliant. Both team played extremely well. Hard tackling, great passes, good shooting and some brilliant goals – a very enjoyable game of football to watch. Goals Captain Soraiya and vice captain Elsie ⚽ Player of the match was Belle! She was like a brick wall in defence today and fully deserved the potm trophy 🏆 Big shout out to our goalkeeper Aliya who made some excellent saves during the game – we know we are in safe hands with such a fantastic goalkeeper in-between the sticks 🖐🏻🥅 Belle and Myla were rocks in defence, Willow, Elsie and Soraiya were brilliant in midfield and Sienna & Lois chased every ball upfront. Overall a great game and a good start to football in 2025!

1st game of the new season was away at Burbage. All the build up during the preseason was to get the girls ready for today and they were absolutely brilliant. Aliya in goal made some good stops to deny the Burbage attackers.Thea, Belle and Myla were brick walls in defence and didn’t let much get past them.The energy of Elsie, Willow and Sorayia kept us on the front foot whilst Sienna and Lois once again caused problems for the opposition defence. Goals today:Lois ⚽⚽⚽Sorayia ⚽⚽Willow ⚽Thea ⚽ Player of the match was Captain fantastic Sorayia who controlled the game from midfield and grabbed 2 goals.
