O&W U14s vs Loughborough U14s 07/12/2015

What a game today! We travelled to Loughborough and came away with a hard-earned point against a very strong side. Our recent focus on defensive positioning really showed — the girls were disciplined, smart, and confident. Their three goals came from absolute wonder strikes that nobody was stopping! From the first whistle we were outstanding: moving the ball brilliantly, making clever runs, and creating chance after chance. We genuinely felt like the better team and were unlucky not to take all three points. Towards the end of the first half the tempo dipped a little and we gave them too much time on the ball — something we addressed at half-time. But the second half? Outstanding again. The final goal came from a superb passing move straight off the training ground, finished with an exceptional touch and finish from Ruby to round the keeper. Safe to say the celebrations were BIG! Every single player grafted today. The desire to keep pushing for goals, the communication, the teamwork — brilliant to watch. And a huge shoutout to Phoebe for putting her body on the line late on! Players of the Match: Isla S & Isobel — well deserved! A brilliant 3–3 draw, with goals from Jess, Ruby & Georgia adding to the tally. Proud of every single one of them! ⚽💙🙌

O&W U14s v Epworth Forest 16/11/25

Today we hosted Epworth forest in the last 16 of the county cup. Straight from the whistle we played some brilliant football. The passing and moving was incredible. Every girl did their job and I cannot find one criticism today from any girl, and this reflected the score…… 6-0!!!. Goals coming from:Sofia – 1Isla S – 2Jess – 1Tallullas – 1And an own goal. I must add aswell, corners have always been our weakness in games and today 3 of the goals came from a corner, so a massive improvement from the girls. Players of the match went to Jess and Tallullah, both were fantastic, well done girls 🏅.

O&W U14s v Asfordby Ameturs U14 – 26/10/25

Another tough game today against the team that won the league last season. We created a lot of chances but just couldn’t find the net.1-1 final whistle. Defensively again we were solid with all the girls having a great game. Thanks to our Tallullah for stepping up in goal again. Some fantastic saves from her and running out to secure the ball. Our goal came from a brilliantly worked phase of play. This is what we need to focus on in training as I feel this is where we are really dangerous, wingers driving down the line and crossing the ball into the middle and was professionally placed on by Jess! Player of the match was awarded to Sofia 🏅she was everywhere today and protecting her back 4 so well done 👏🏻 Enjoy the rest of your weekend and we go again next week ⚽️👊💙

O&W U11s v Ashfordby Amateurs 12/10/25

On a foggy morning that looked like something straight out of a movie, our Under 11s took to the pitch with a real sense of determination. The temperature had dropped, but that didn’t cool their energy — the team came out fighting from the first whistle, a complete turnaround from last week’s performance. From the outset, the passing was sharp and confident, with everyone working hard to find space and support one another. Under pressure, the players kept their composure, showing real teamwork and resilience. It was an evenly matched game, full of exciting moments and great play from both sides. Ashfordby an absolute pleasure to host — their attitude, teamwork, and sportsmanship making for a brilliant morning of football. Girl of the Game Emilia, who pulled off some fantastic saves, read the game beautifully, and impressed not just her teammates and coaches, but even earned praise from the opposition ⭐️A brilliant effort all round — well done, team ⚽️⚽️ Thank you to our sponsors Shonki Bros & Roofing Tec 👏

Match Reports, Under 13's Vixens

O&W U13 Vixens V Nuneaton Borough Devils 12/10/25

It was another game played in challenging conditions as the U13 Vixens hosted Nuneaton Borough Devils in thick fog, which made visibility tough at times. Despite that, the girls started brightly, showing great energy and determination to take an early 2–0 lead. Nuneaton fought back strongly, however, managing to turn the game around and go into half-time 3–2 up. The Vixens came out firing after the break, quickly levelling the score at 3–3 with some excellent attacking play. Both sides continued to push forward, creating plenty of chances in an end-to-end second half. Eventually, both teams found the net again, bringing the match to an exciting 4–4 draw. It was a great team performance full of effort, creativity, and resilience from the Vixens. 👏 The parents’ Player of the Match went to Sienna V, who was outstanding while taking on a new role in midfield and showed fantastic composure and work rate throughout. 🏆 A brilliant display from the girls once again — plenty to be proud of! 💪

U13 Vixens vs Loughborough Foxes Royals – 05/10/25

The Vixens hosted Loughborough Foxes Royals this weekend in very windy conditions, which made it difficult for both teams to play their usual football. Despite the blustery weather, the girls showed great determination and teamwork throughout the match. There were plenty of exciting moments, with the Vixens hitting the bar, the post, and seeing several efforts go just wide before finally finding their rhythm. Once they managed to break down the opposition’s defence, the goals started to flow. Sisi was in fantastic form, netting a brilliant hat trick, while Ronnie and Lyra each added a goal of their own to secure a strong 5–2 win. Ronnie’s hard work and commitment throughout the game earned her the Player of the Match, as chosen by the parents. 🏆 A great team effort all round, showing resilience, patience, and plenty of attacking flair despite the challenging conditions.

O&W U14s v East Goscote U14 – 12/10/25

Well what a game that was!! Another win under our belt and what a win it was. Every girl was on it today and I would say that was probably one of the best team performances I’ve seen from the girls. Massive shout out to Tallullah and Georgia for stepping up and doing a half each in goal, both girls pulled off some great saves and stopped them running onto anything. 2 cracking goals from Jess which secured us the 2-0 win 💪. Again today was an extremely difficult decision for player of the match as everyone had a cracking game. But today we felt Millie deserved it. She didn’t let anything get past her and it was so good to see her confidence growing. Thanks all again for the help with the pitch at the end and let’s carry on this winning streak 👊⚽️

O&W U9s v Epworth Forest U9s – Match Report 05/10/25

A very windy day for the match, as we welcomed a very good Epworth side to our ground. A very close game by both teams, even fighting against the strong winds there was still some great football on display and some even better goalkeeping from both keepers 🙌 Both teams had really good direct wingers who created alot during the game. Some great shooting from the midfielders and strikers aswell, including a thunderous strike from our captain Epworth caused us alot of problems but we stood strong and continued to battle well, even though at times felt we were hanging on, but as we all know now, our girls always give so much and work together as a unit. A great game for the neutral, and both teams certainly put a shift in. Well done to both teams ⚽️⚽️👊 Player of the match today was: Sienna, who worked so hard and showed off some great skill and footwork

We got off to a slow start today, taking 10/15 minutes to find our rhythm but once we settled in, the game became much more evenly matched, with both teams battling hard across the pitch. After an early period of play that was mostly one-sided, the girls showed great determination to fight back and create some good attacking moments. There were plenty of positives to take away, as well as a few areas to focus on in training this week. The team’s effort and teamwork continued to grow as the match went on, showing real progress and spirit.
