What a game today! We travelled to Loughborough and came away with a hard-earned point against a very strong side. Our recent focus on defensive positioning really showed — the girls were disciplined, smart, and confident. Their three goals came from absolute wonder strikes that nobody was stopping!
From the first whistle we were outstanding: moving the ball brilliantly, making clever runs, and creating chance after chance. We genuinely felt like the better team and were unlucky not to take all three points.
Towards the end of the first half the tempo dipped a little and we gave them too much time on the ball — something we addressed at half-time.
But the second half? Outstanding again. The final goal came from a superb passing move straight off the training ground, finished with an exceptional touch and finish from Ruby to round the keeper. Safe to say the celebrations were BIG!
Every single player grafted today. The desire to keep pushing for goals, the communication, the teamwork — brilliant to watch. And a huge shoutout to Phoebe for putting her body on the line late on!
