Oadby & Wigston U13 Girls VS Harborough Town Juniors U13 Lionesses Girls – 19/01/25

Back where we left off with a great win today. Nice to see the girls back on the pitch after what seems like forever. Very pleased with the girls performance overall, I think we started the game great. The performance did drop a bit and I think they improved but still a good fighting spirit. Girls who I’ve spoken to about needing to improve their work rate and intensity also stepped up, so that was nice to see. Some great performances all over especially defensively. That being said this week Millie was awarded player of the match. Strong in her challenges and covering well, then dropping back into position well.Great 3-0 winJess with 2 goals, Ruby with 1! ⚽️⚽️⚽️

O&W U12 Vixens v Ambleside Junior U12 Lionesses – 15/09/24

The Vixens had a fantastic start to the game where we dominated possession and had countless attempts on goal. We hit the post and cross bar so many times and their keeper was on fire saving everything. A long ball over the top caught out our defence and they scored 1-0 just before half time. A good old team talk and a slight change in formation meant in the second half, we were scoring! The opposition had us working extremely hard and we had to dig deep to achieve the final score, winning 5-2! Players of the match were Sisi & Rocket! Sisi scored a hat trick today, the final one being a beauty, and she worked very hard for the team. Rocket who joined us this season (but it feels like shes been with us awhile) slotted straight in, working really hard for the team, energy levels where brilliant and she never stopped troubling their right back. Well done vixens! 👍👌⚽️

O&W U13 v Daventry Town Youth U13 Match Report: 15/09/24

Shakey start from us for the first 15 minutes but progressively started to get back in the game with some outstanding performances from Harlo for the first half. Massive shout out to Isla W and Katie for stepping up and trying new positions to cover for Sofia. Officials was well against us today but didn’t let that drop the girls heads and to come back from 3-1 was outstanding finishing 3-3! 2nd half I think every girl put a great performance in and made it harder for the player of the match. But today it went to Harlo which all the girls suggested as she was outstanding today. All in all we are still unbeaten for this season and hope we carry on with the momentum. Thanks for everybody’s support and roll on next week 👊.

This reel of today’s game captures some of the brilliant shots, cracking saves, and those key moments in between—like the solid tackling from the defense and relentless runs down the field. It was such an amazing game! No subs, the heat was against us, and we were facing a really strong team, but the girls absolutely smashed it! There was a bit of a dip in the middle, but the girls turned it around and kept pushing, showing some beautiful football. So proud to see them play as a team and come out on top. Well done, girls! And a well done to Player of the Match, Ellie!

O&W U10s v Nuneaton match report – 08/09/24

A cracking game played today for our u10s. After last week the girls came out fighting from kick off and soared the whole game. Some fantastic team work on the pitch and all of the girls played a great game especially with just one sub! Passing was better, communication was better and in turn the opportunities for goals came thick and fast. Special mention for Phoebe who dug deep and put in a great shift on pitch, Hayden for getting the ball up pitch and creating some great opportunities for our strikers and Myla who created great space and scored! Goal scorers today were Lila, Tahlia and Myla 👏🏻
