This week, the girls travelled away to face Daventry Town in the semi-final of the League Cup. After a long journey, they arrived focused, calm, and ready to put in a strong performance. From the very first whistle, the team took control—moving the ball with confidence and composure. It didn’t take long before we found the back of the net. Despite some incredible saves from the Daventry keeper and determined defending, our persistence paid off with a second goal just before half-time, making it 2–0 at the break. The second half saw the girls come out just as strong. They stayed organised, worked hard off the ball, and played some fantastic team football. Great game today girls against Oadby Owls. Losing 6-2 was never the result we wanted, it was a tough, very unorganised game but dispite the circumstances you held our own! You all battled well and did not let it dampen your performance. Some outstanding saves from Sophie in the first half, even a penalty that was very close to the goal but her hands weren’t letting that one past her 🧤cracking Soph well done. O&W U13s v Harborough Town U13 06/04/25

Great effort from the girls today. That’s second place wrapped up and what a great year it’s been. Solid at the back today as always and some great chances up front. I said to Alice it’s your last chance, you’re coming off the next time it goes out. No sooner had the words left my mouth she goes and volleys it in. She really wanted to play well against her former club so that was nice to see. Some real dangerous attacks today from all involved but today we decided to go with Tallulah as player of the match. Tallulah always puts in a solid performance but has started to make some lovely pass and move situations and seems to really be understanding the game more so well done Tallulah. 6-0 win 🎉⚽️🎉⚽️

O&W U12 Vixens vs Anstey Nomads 23rd March ‘25

The Vixens put in a gritty and disciplined display to earn a well deserved 1-0 victory in their second league match against Anstey Nomads this season. From the first whistle, the defensive unit was outstanding, staying alert to nullify Anstey’s constant long-ball threat. Their speed, awareness, and smart positioning kept the opposition at bay throughout. On the rare occasions the Nomads broke through, the Vixens’ goalkeeper was there with brave, committed stops, putting her body on the line to help secure another clean sheet. A slightly adjusted midfield setup showed just how adaptable this Vixens squad is, with no dip in performance. The players worked tirelessly, linking up well and maintaining control for much of the first half, with possession largely in the opposition’s half. Despite this, the sides went in level at the break. The second half saw more of the same calm, composed play. A well-worked move involving sharp passing, a switch of play, tidy footwork, and a pinpoint cross was capped off by a confident, composed finish from Amber — a goal that ultimately sealed the result. Despite the low scoreline, the match was packed with action. The Vixens combined strong defending, quality goalkeeping, smart combination play through the middle, and unselfish work up front to earn a hard-fought win over a resilient Anstey team. 🏆Player of the Match was Sienna Virgo – for her tenacious, intelligent defending and leadership at the back under constant pressure. A brilliant performance, well deserved! Well done, Vixens — once again showing quality, effort, and excellent team spirit! 💪

Oadby & Wigston U13s vs Ashfordby Amateurs U13s Match Report – 10/02/25

Fantastic result today. It was clear to see the work the girls have done in training with the passes and movement. Blaine and I both felt all the girls brought their A game today. There wasn’t a poor performance from anyone. Millie was a wall today, Ruby relentless as always. Tallulah none stop battling and that’s just to name a few. It was so hard to pick player of the match Alice and Tallulah both with hat tricks. On any other week tallulah would have won with the energy she put in but as Alice was playing out of position and is new to the team we decided to award it to Alice. 3 by Alice2 by Tallulah1 by Paige1 by Jess7-0 win 🥇 The sky’s the limit with these girls roll on Daventry. 💪🏻👊🏻
