Match Reports, Under 11’s United

O&W U10s v Barrow town U10s – 01/09/24

First game of the season in a 7v7 format for our under 10s and a great game was played against Barrow Town. After a rocky first 10 minutes the girls dug deep and played some really good football.Lois and Cora acted as a powerhouse duo in defense, Lila covered loads of ground gaining us some valuable corners and alongside Tahlia both had some great shots at goal. Emilia and Fern made some great saves as goalies and although not their first preference of position lent in and made it hard for Barrow. After the game both teams took part in a penalty shootout for a bit of fun and was a nice way to end the game! A great game played by all with lots for Arron and Ash to work on with the girls in training! Goal scorer today was Tahlia 👏🏻

O&W U14s Match Report – 01/09/24

A great start to the season for the under 14’s. Despite only having 9 players available to play against the oppositions 11, every one of the girls stepped up and gave it their all. Some great saves made from Kitty and the defenders Neave & Amelia worked hard all match. A solid midfield and some great shots made, the girls were unlucky not to have scored lots more today. Big shout out to Imaan & Amelie, playing in positions they aren’t used too, and Liv for being a rocket covering the pitch.Goals for Lola, Lola L, Heidi ⚽️⚽️⚽️ saw us secure a draw. Well done girls! O&W U8 Diamond’s vs Burbage U8 : 01/09/14

1st game of the new season was away at Burbage. All the build up during the preseason was to get the girls ready for today and they were absolutely brilliant. Aliya in goal made some good stops to deny the Burbage attackers.Thea, Belle and Myla were brick walls in defence and didn’t let much get past them. The energy of Elsie, Willow and Sorayia kept us on the front foot whilst Sienna and Lois once again caused problems for the opposition defence. Goals today:Lois ⚽⚽⚽Sorayia ⚽⚽Willow ⚽Thea ⚽ Player of the match was Captain fantastic Sorayia who controlled the game from midfield and grabbed 2 goals. Fantastic start for the U8’s today, welldone girls ⚽💙

Match Reports

O&W U12 v Albert Village Juniors U12 Match Report – 14.04.24

A really tough game today against a well matched opposition. Some good battling all over the pitch and second half some better passing movements.Lots of rushed shots and not taking the chances we made has cost us today. That being said, we did make the chances to be missed and sometimes it’s one of those days so let’s stay positive. We were unlucky with the pass out at the end, it’s something we need to work more on in training and not Phoebe’s fault. All teams struggle with it and we might need to approach it differently. Today the player of the match goes to Isla W 🏆I don’t think there was a challenge she didn’t win in the first half. Really aggressive and brave so a big well done Isla. 👏🏻

O&W U11 Foxes v Ashfordby U11 – Match Report 14.04.24

Today was a tough game for our Foxes as Ashfordby played some good football, lots of movement and strong passing and we found it difficult to break down their strong defensive lines. However, on a positive each and every one of our girls put a shift in. We tackled, we chased and we created some chances that unfortunately just didn’t hit the back of the net! Well done to Summer for girl of the game, Summer returned back to the team after being injured for a few weeks and she absolutely shone like a star! Well done Summer 👏🏻 🏆
